Opal Creek Expeditions

Our small-group backcountry expeditions give kids the skills and autonomy to become outdoor leaders. With offerings for ages 8-18, Opal Creek Expeditions traverse miles of backcountry trail, summit ridgelines and peaks, and visit sub-alpine lakes and streams for a unique and rewarding summer camp experience in the Opal Creek, Bull of the Woods, and Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Areas. Opal Creek Expeditions starts with our Junior Basecamp program, an in-camp introduction to wilderness, and moves on to 6- and 8-day backcountry trips for older campers. We run at least one girls-only trip each summer, and several trips end with a half-day of rafting on a local river.
